Venus is the Roman equvilent of the Greek Goddess Aphrodite. She is Goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. The name Venus is possibly connected to venerari, “to honor, to please” and venia “grace, favor”. The planet venus is the second in distance from the sun, it is incrediably bright and is commonly called “the evening star” or “the morning star”.

People once thought the planet venus was a sort of Garden of Eden place with flowers and waterfalls and all sorts of life. Another famous Venus is Venus Williams, a famous tennis star who’s sister, Selena, is just as famous on the court.
The first time Venus appears on the US’ most popular names list is in 1895 at #815. It last appeared on the list in 1982 where it ranked #951.
